Big Beach Clean

Big Beach Clean with Solway Firth Partnership and MAC-CAN

Come along and help make a difference – it’s a big task so more hands on deck the better.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE get in touch if you are coming! Weather/other factors may change plans. The organiser will need to be able to contact everyone! Email info@mac-can.scot for directions, full info and let us know who to expect

We’re going back to Carleton Shore, between Whithorn and Monreith! One of the most polluted beaches in Scotland.

PLEASE come if you can. It’s a great place but it’s full of TONNES of ocean plastics and lots more. We need as much help as possible, to fill at least one 40′ skip – again! Previous hauls have brought out >5 tonnes!

PLEASE NOTE: It’s a private beach and the farm has limited parking, so please lift share where you can.

PLAN:
Meet at Cairndoon Farm for 9.45am for a quick talk about the day, then will all walk down to Carleton beach together (20-25 mins walk) at 10am sharp, clean for a few hours, have lunch, clean some more and will leave to come back up at approximately 2pm, as daylight will be starting to go.
Please wear suitable footwear and work gloves, and bring everything you need with you to the beach (food, drink, waterproofs, sanitiser etc). Toilet only at the farm. Litter pickers and bags will be provided, but please bring your own if you have some.
Hopefully weather will be kind but any major bad weather we will cancel, so please make sure we have your contact details to update you.
Risk Assessments will be provided.
