POSTPONED- The Paddy Line documentary with Alan McLellan
POSTPONED- Unfortunately due to family circumstances Alan has had to postpone this event. We will be rearranging in the New Year
The Paddy Line opened on 7 November 1859 and was substantially closed, under the Beeching Axe, on 14 June 1965.
Alan McLellan has always had a passion for the old railway lines, wondering whether they could they be reopened or used as footpaths for family walks. He walked the Paddy line from Dumfries to Stranraer then to Portpatrick and filmed it as he walked. This was to raise funds for Cancer Research as he has Prostate Cancer. Now retired he needed another hobby as he is not as fit as he was, he used to run half marathons, instead he took up walking & filming and fundrasing and he felt the Paddy line would be a real interest for the local people.
This event will be held on Friday 9th December from 3-5pm at the Newton Stewart Initiative Centre, Church St, Newton Stewart DG8 6ER. To book a space please contact lindsay@newtonstewartinitiative.net
